Blaine - love the Amazing Race video. You're my new frontrunner for Friday Vidblogging. Did you make that with MS Movie Maker, or something else?
Some details on the video:
The opening scene (and closing scene) with the spinning globe was actually done using Jahshaka. I downloaded a high-resolution satellite image of the continents from NASA and turned the oceans transparent. This was overlayed with a left to right motion to synchronize with the underlying spinning globe (yellow grid).
The subtitles were custom titles I created. For the first transition from the globe to the airplane, I did a zoom out effect on the globe at the same time I did a smooth circle transition. I used the 'Moving Titles, Layered' title animation for the '1 Team of 2'. I did an overlay of a red/yellow clip on top of another to give it some interesting color. Then it was just pictures (with ease-in or ease-out effects) interspersed with quick video. Ideally I would do like the show and have us turning and posing or doing something rather than just static photos. But we had lots of photos to show off so we went with it.
