Windows Vista available at the end of the month

I've been beta testing Windows Vista with the newest version of Windows Movie Maker and DVD Maker for several months now. I even have a pre-release of the final version installed. For those of you that can't wait to try it you only have a little more time to wait. Windows Vista is supposed to be widely available at the end of this month (January 30, 2007). Start counting down...

Have you tried exporting the New moviemaker to an XP box?It would be nice if the new build would be available for the XP croud aswell.

As is the pattern with Windows Movie Maker releases, the newer versions are not backwards compatible with older OSes. They do this as an "incentive" for people to upgrade.

The new Vista version hooks into features of the operating system and has a different preview/rendering engine. If you want the new version of WMM, you have to move to Vista. I don't make the rules, I just report them. Don't shoot the messenger.
