I have fried up 4 bloody sony video cameras!!! ,one of them is mine,the rest belong to my friends.<BR/>Sony support gave me a price of 380 Euros,nearly 500 plus USD!!!, in order to fix the burned circuit of my camera.<BR/>All these started after my son upgrated the computer,with ASUS P5K-VM, motherboard and a G force 8800 graf card.<BR/>Sorry for my french...but..spending 2000 USD, it is not a joke,and the main thing is,that is not my fault!!!!<BR/>YiannisYiannishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15483371054980369289noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19826224.post-61966465501267996242007-04-19T18:24:00.000-07:002007-04-19T18:24:00.000-07:00wow, I don't know you, but I am writing to say I feel your pain!<BR/><BR/>I recently built a new computer running a grand-spanking-new Dual-Core 3.0Ghz processor, a new GeForce 8800GTS, and an ASUS crosshair motherboard, all of which had gotten terrific reviews in the gamer webrings...<BR/><BR/>I am in a video-editting course in a Graduate Program at Boston University. I thought to myself, "wow, I just built a new computer, perhaps i get these videos off of the DV tape at home using the firewire built into my motherboard"<BR/><BR/>After frying the second camcorder and my neighbor's 500GB Harddrive (with the characteristic smell of burning electronics), I finally put the pieces together.... "the FIREWIRE port!"<BR/><BR/>I've only had my computer for 2 weeks or so, and I JUST configured everything... and I re-connected the firewire cables on the inside and outside, but I am hesitant to try any more devices in it.... I am also hesitant to dismantle the entire computer to send-in the motherboard via RMA despite the possibility that I completely ruined the 1394E bus/chip. <BR/><BR/>I'm frustrated and sad... this happened 2 days ago, and i've been reading articles frantically online. I spent what seems like a LOT of money (especially to a grad-student) on this computer system and there's all of these problems.... plus, my pride is hurt as it seems like i have so many problems with something I am a supposed 'expert' at.<BR/><BR/>Reading that someone else has experienced something similar makes me feel like i'm not alone.<BR/><BR/>I hope your issues had been resolved in a speedy and seamless manner.
