After a bit of snooping, I discovered there is a parameter to control this angle. As a result I decided to create this pack of Wow! Title variations so you can decide the angle (even upside down!)

There are 4 different variations, but feel free to examine to XML to make your own variants.
To use one of the new titles:
Go to 'Tools' > 'Titles and Credits' > 'Title on the selected clip'.
Type your text in the first box.
Click on 'change the title animation'.
Under your list of one line titles, pick the desired variant:

Wow! Tilt Up

Wow! Tilt Down

Wow! Straight

Wow! Upside-down

As with other titles, you can change the font, background color and other styling attributes. Finally, click 'Done'.
It starts with a solid background and a title (such as the name of the location, or the words "The Simpsons"). Through that you can see the video, after a few seconds the words expand toward the screen and you can see the full video behind.
A couple additional things you might want to do. If you want the title to take longer, stretch it to the right. I added the 'Fade In from White' effect to the video so that the text would start white.
These new installers will work for either 32-bit or 64-bit versions of WMM 6.0 (Vista) as well as WMM 2.x under XP. The Vista versions require you to download Rehan's ShaderTFX add-on; XP does not. Please follow the instructions for your specific version of Movie Maker.

Click here, for a sample video of Compositing and Translucency Transitions.
Windows Movie Maker 6.0 (64-bit):
You must first install the latest Direct X Runtimes and then Rehan's ShaderTFX (64-bit). You don't need a registered copy, just the trial will work. Verify that those new transitions are working as expected.
Next, run the Blaine Blends (64-bit) Installer

Windows Movie Maker 6.0 (32-bit):
The instructions are similar to the 64-bit version. You must first install the latest Direct X Runtimes and then Rehan's ShaderTFX (32-bit). Next, run the Blaine Blends (32-bit) Installer

Windows Movie Maker 2.x (XP):
If you have Windows Movie Maker 2.x, ShaderTFX is not needed. Just run the Blaine Blends (32-bit) Installer

After restarting Windows Movie Maker, you should have 12 new transitions with corresponding icons:

Compositing (A add B) - for best results, one clip should be on a black background. Things like explosions, flames, snow fall, raindrops, etc. work best.

Show A, Show B - these just show clip A or clip B respectively. These are useful when you want to cut away to another clip without affecting the overall timing of your main clip.

Translucency 10% through 90% - these blend the two clips so you can see both at the same time.
Blainehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06379274325110866036noreply@blogger.com133tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19826224.post-37900657198362958962007-12-16T04:22:00.001-08:002016-11-18T09:18:45.744-08:00Custom 'Directed By' TitleThere was a request on the forums for a two-line title where the first line was smaller than the second and where the spacing was a little tighter. Using this technique, you can easily overlay an image of a TV screen, for example. Have you ever wanted to add the TV Ratings to the top of your home videos? I created a set of custom titles that can be used in Windows Movie Maker to overlay the various TV Ratings (Y, Y7, G, PG, 14, MA) to the top left corner of your video.
Football) Titles. Most of the XML came directly from HitTheBongo's set of baseball titles. I didn't change much other than the names and the images.

Click on the soccer ball above which will download the custom soccer ball titles. Run the self-extracting executable (soccerball) and it will install the custom XML code and the image files you'll need.
To use the new titles, go to 'Tools' > 'Titles and Credits' > 'Title on the selected clip' > 'change the title animation'. Under your list of one line titles should be 4 new ones called:

Soccer Ball (spins out, video shrinks)

Soccer Ball (spins out)

Soccer Ball (zoom, no spin)

Soccer Ball (slide to side)

I've got some ideas for additions, but I wanted to get these out to those that were requesting them. The bulk of the credit should obviously go to HitTheBongo.Blainehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06379274325110866036noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19826224.post-1149537816485764412006-06-05T12:59:00.001-07:002016-11-18T09:18:53.357-08:00Windows Movie Maker 2.x - Effects IconsIf you are creating your own custom effects in Windows Movie Maker 2.x, you need to specify an icon number.
