Custom Spin and Zoom Effects

'Spin and Zoom Effects' Video SampleThere was a request on the forums for variations on some of the standard Windows Movie Maker effects for spinning and zooming.

Take a look at the video and if that is something you would like, click through to the post for the Custom Spin and Zoom Effects. Incidentally these are only for Windows Movie Maker 6.0 and won't work on WMM 2.x or Windows Live Movie Maker (WLMM).

  1. I've been using WMM 6.0 64-bit but your last few effects haven't worked. They either faded, done nothing, or switched between each clip frame by frame.

    Thanks

    Sorry to bother you

  2. First question, are Rehan's ShaderTFX effects and transitions working? If not, you need to get those working first. Check his website for support.

Apart from that, check that you have the latest video drivers and that you aren't using any unsupported video types like DivX, Xvid, MP4, etc. WMM likes .wmv and .wma.

  3. I have ShaderTFX on my computer but those effects don't work on my computer either (I've asked Rehan but he hasn't replied yet) and I use .avi and .wmv files.

BTW, does it matter if ShaderTFX is unregistered?

  4. My latest effects/transitions rely on ShaderTFX (unregistered is okay), but if you can't get his effects to work, mine won't work either. I can't provide support for ShaderTFX.

  5. Ok, thanks for your help anyway.

Also, if you take requests, please can you make a title/credits which comes up as negative (instead of a certain colour).

  6. Unfortunately the architecture of Windows Movie Maker doesn't allow for text to be anything but a solid color.

  8. Is there a way to make it zoom in on one part of the video, then zoom out afterwards?

    1. Apparently the "Windows Movie Makers" website is no longer available, but I was able to find an archive copy of the post. You can now click through and see the XML code.

    3. In the second paragraph above, I updated the link for "Custom Spin and Zoom Effects". It might take a moment to load the archive version of the page, but it should show my post with the XML code.
