Custom TV Ratings Titles updated for WMM 6.0

Preview TV RatingsAre you using Windows Movie Maker to edit your home videos? Have you ever wanted to add the TV Ratings to the top of your home videos? I created a set of custom titles that can be used in Windows Movie Maker to overlay the various TV Ratings (Y, Y7, G, PG, 14, MA) to the top left corner of your video.

Note: These titles have been designed to work with either WMM 2.1 (XP) or WMM 6.0 version.

There are two installers depending on whether you are running on a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows. The installer will put the necessary files into C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared.
Blaine's TV Ratings Titles (32-bit)
Blaine's TV Ratings Titles (64-bit)
To use the new titles, go to 'Tools' > 'Titles and Credits' > 'Title on the selected clip' > 'change the title animation'. Under your list of one line titles should be 6 new ones called:
  • TV Rating (Y)

  • TV Rating (Y7)

  • TV Rating (G)

  • TV Rating (PG)

  • TV Rating (14)

  • TV Rating (MA)

  • If you want an additional subtitle, type it into the text fields, otherwise just type a single space. Click 'Done'.

    1. I see this: A network error occured while attempting to read from file...(and it gives my location.

What caused this to happen and can I do anything to download these ratings to MM?

    2. great effects

wondering how i could change the position of the rating title

wasn't sure which numbers to edit in the xml file to get the rating to where i want it to be (eg. x% from the left or right and y% from the top or bottom)

also the title doesn't fade in and out.

awesome effects...have been using the slow/speed and resize effects

      using vista version 6.0

    4. Blaine, It's been several years since my last visit. I really love these "TV Ratings" titles, but I can't figure out how to get them in my MovieMaker 6.0? I would also love to download your other effects and transitions, which I've tried. I get the downloader and run it, but can't find out where they are, because they aren't showing up in MM. Is there something different I have to do using Vista 64 bit?
Thanks so much, and sorry for my ignorance:)

    5. @Danny, the current installer is a 32-bit installer so it will put things in the wrong place on a 64-bit machine. But all you have to do is copy the complete contents of C:\Program Files (x86)\Movie Maker\Shared (including subfolders) to C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared.

      1. Since this reply, I've added a 64-bit installer so the manual copying is no longer necessary. Enjoy.

    6. @Blaine, Thanks! You are so helpful and I really appreciate that! I had been pretty active several years ago in video editing as a hobby, and you always helped me out, including ther Movie Maker Forums. I have forgotten much, since my car accident several years ago, and am only now returning to my hobby, which I love!
      Thanks again!
