Blaine's Video with Scrolling Text

In response to a query on the Windows Movie Makers forums, I created this custom title animation. It shrinks the current video and shows it on the left. You can then type a lot of text (credits, notes, disclaimers, copyrights, etc.) and have it scroll by on the right.

For instructions on how to add this custom title and use it in Windows Movie Maker 6.0, please check the WMM forums. Please post there if you have further questions.

  1. Blaine, phenomenal add on! However, I am having an issue, and this may or may not be related to this add on or perhaps to Rehan's ShaderTFX, I'm not sure.

I have made a phenomenal 2 hour length film, using several of the effects and add-ons that you have made. Basically, non-stock WMM effects.

I am encountering a "no such interface supported" warning when attempting to burn the projects (7) to a DVD-RW via Win. DVD Maker as launched out of WMM and not as if opening DVD Maker directly from the desk top.

I have read that WMM does not play well with non-stock or effects that it doesn't "know", so to speak.

HAve you had this issue or know of any suggestions for correcting it?

The video is a phenomenal final production, and when played in full-screen with effects looks stunning. Without the add-ons... still good, but not stunning. I really don't want to have all the work I put in to this go for not.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks... DocMundy

  2. @docmundy, your error is most likely caused by your source file not being 100% compatible with WMM. Most often the error you are seeing happens with .mpg files. I always convert my files to .wmv format (for video) and .wma format (for audio) and that seems to prevent the 'no such interface' error.

If you still have problems, post a question on the Windows Movie Makers Forums. Or also try a search there for that error message.

  3. I can't seem to find the 'Video Left' in the transition list under the title 'Titles, Two Line'! I've restarted my computer and it's still not there! Help Blaine!!

    1. Are you sure you followed the instructions as noted? Also, be sure you are running Windows Movie Maker 6.0. Also check that you aren't accidentally running a 32-bit version of WMM6 on a 64-bit version of Windows. That puts things in the wrong folders. Check the link at the top for WMM 6.0 on Windows 7, if you need the correct installer.

  4. Dear Blaine. First of all thank you very much for this awesome effect and for sharing it with us. It gives the video a professional aspect. And also thank you for all the other effects too.

    Best regards
    Manuel

  5. Blaine,
First off, thanks! I have a question... If I want to get rid of the gray bar above the video what lines of code would I add/change?

    1. Set the BannerType to NoBanner instead of Normal.

  6. Hi. The WMM Forum can no longer be reached. Is there another site I can get the instructions for this Add on? Thanks.
