  1. wow just what i was looking for man thankz. also do you think a plug in to reverse a clip is possible

  2. Emmanuel, I'm sorry to say but because of the plug-in architecture, it isn't possible to deal with the order of the frames in a clip. Essentially you can take the frames in order and apply an effect, but that is it. Check the Movie Maker forums for tips on reversing video. (http://www.windowsmoviemakers.net/forums)

  3. I have spent my entire night looking for an addon just like this. Problem is for whatever reason after i install it i cannot see any new effects in WMM. Would it be possible to get an .exe installer or just a how to install this manually. Never really used WMM before.

    Thanks

  4. WOW, thankyou so much! I was looking for this for about 3 hours until I found your site. I was also looking for the letterbox addon and you had that too! Great site! Have you ever thought about making a burn transition? Like film burning transition... Thanks again!

  5. Excellent!
Thank you very much for this elegant solution to a problem Microsoft really should have foreseen.
    It works like a charm!

  7. How Do I Get Effects to Install and Work on Vista 64 Bit edition?

    ReplyDelete
  8. The installer is a 32-bit installer, but there is no reason it can't work on 64-bit Vista. The problem is that under 64-bit Vista, it creates the directory in the wrong place. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Movie Maker, copy the complete contents of the Shared folder over to C:\Program Files\Movie Maker. Then it should work the next time you start WMM.

  10. Hi Blaine, I've used your resize tool to convert footage from my camcorder which was recorded in 16:9 but comes out on my PC squashed horizontally to 3:4. Your tool successfully restores the footage to the correct dimensions. However, for some reason it also significantly reduces the quality/resolution of the footage. Any idea why? It's so close to solving a really frustrating problem.
    Many thanks - Andy

  11. These are all great love them, just one question is there any way to do custom resize effect for XP movie maker.

  12. Blaine, I installed this custom effect using your *.msi, but I can't find it in WMM 6.0. I am running 32 bit Vista and have closed and restarted Movie player several times. Do you have any idea why I can't get this to work?

  13. Jonathan,

First confirm that it got installed correctly. Go to C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared\AddOnTFX and confirm that you have a BlaineResizer.xml file there.

If you don't, then try reinstalling. If you do, then restart WMM and look under Effects. The effects use the standard icons so you may not notice them, but they have names like Resize: Add Border, Black 3%.

  14. can u please put the download of reverse effect!?

  15. Malfada, I'd love to. Unfortunately, the way that Microsoft has implemented their video engine, you are only fed the frames in forward order. There's no way within WMM to reverse that order.

The best I can suggest are some 3rd-party tools that can reverse video. If you go to the WindowsMovieMakers.net forums, there are details on doing reverse video.

  16. GREAT site!! I'm new to editing. I downloaded one of your effects, "CreamyDreanLook". I ran it, but, don't know how to use it. Don't see it in Movie Maker. I'm using Vista sp. 2, version 6 of movie maker. Sure would appreciate it if you would tell me how to use it after installing.
    THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!!!!!!!

  17. The details are in the post on the Custom Dreamy Look. If you have a 64-bit version of Vista, you may have to manually move files to the correct location.

Read that other post, and add your comments there.

  18. Thanks for the info. Blaine. It worked perfectly. If you don't mind, do all the effects and trans. work the same way?

    THANKS

  19. Yes, unfortunately the only program I had for making an installer always assumes a 32-bit version of Windows.

  20. Ah thanks Blaine for the tips on Vista 64bit. I tried to install a number of your addons with no success, untell I moved the shared file to where it should be. Thanks a lot!

  21. Thanks for this :) Just what I was looking for.

  22. I have installed this correctly but the problem is when I put the effect on the video, all I can see is a black screen. Do you know if I might do something wrong?

    ReplyDelete
  23. I would check that your clips are WMV format...

    ReplyDelete
  24. Okay, so I'm new to all of this and naturally I'm having trouble. I am supposing I have the 64bit because the effects saved to the wrong spot. As suggested, I moved them to the correct spot. All the effects show up in WMM, the problem is that they don't work. If I add them to a clip, the clip turns black. I even changed all the clips to WMV format and it's still turning it black. What should I do?
    Thanks

  25. xojack, did you move everything from C:\Program Files (x86)\Movie Maker\Shared to C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared ?

You need all files (including .fx files) and all sub-folders (e.g. AddOnTFX and all content).
